Data Sourcing
INTERPEDE aggregates public government records from official APIs and public records. Every data record displayed on this site includes source attribution — a citation linking back to the original government source. This is a core design principle of the platform: every fact traces back to a public source.

FEC Data Use Restrictions
Campaign finance data from the FEC is subject to statutory restrictions under 52 U.S.C. § 30111(a)(4) and 11 CFR § 104.15. INTERPEDE displays aggregate totals only (total receipts, disbursements, cash on hand). Individual contributor names and addresses are not displayed, sold, or used for solicitation. The openFEC API also prohibits use of FEC data for AI/ML training, which INTERPEDE complies with.
Per-Record Source Attribution
Each data page on INTERPEDE includes a "Sources" box that lists the specific government sources for the data displayed on that page. Primary sources are highlighted. This per-record attribution is implemented through the platform's SourceAttribution model, which links every citable record to its origin.

Federal government works are in the public domain (17 U.S.C. § 105) and may be freely republished. INTERPEDE is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. Data is presented faithfully as provided by the source APIs; any errors or delays are the responsibility of the original source, not INTERPEDE. Always verify critical information against the original government record.
